This photo was taken at FOB Wolverine in Zabul Province, Afghanistan. I spent a month in Kandahar and Zabul Provinces, reporting on the war for KUHF Houston Public Radio. This picture was taken the day after I returned from a two-day mission with the 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, hunting for Taliban IEDs and bomb making materials.
