Hello, kseeker!

Welcome to The Writer forums! We're glad to have you with us.

You mentioned writing articles: Do you have a particular topic you write about?

Hey Martha,

Currently I am working on an article for an archaelogical magazine, and I am also looking at doing some research and writing for family historical magazines as well.

Being very new to all of this, I still havent actually been paid for any of my writing but I know that it does take time and a lot of practise to break into the market of freelance article writing.

I am looking forward to interacting with others on this forum

Susan

Hello, Susan!

Archaeology and family history both sound like pretty interesting topics to write about. Even if you haven't been paid yet, you're gathering some published clips to show an editor when you make a pitch in the future -- and  that can be pretty important! Clips show your writing skills and what kind of work you put into your writing, and editors like to know what they're getting when they first starting working with a freelancer.

We hope you'll browse through our article section on WriterMag.com for more information and ideas about freelancing when you have some time.

If you have questions, the forum is a great place to ask.

Archaeology and family history?     Hmmm....have you dug up any ancestors recently? Sorry, that's probly more my genre.  I bet you could come up with a novel or article combining the two very interesting subjects. They do always say write about what you know and enjoy.

good luck
