RE:The Mark of a Man
What part of this do you find hard to read aloud to your group ? Many wish they had your gift.. I found it to be very deep and insightive..I related to a young child awaiting his first physical reprimand from non other than his Mother/Father and then in a split second she/he had change of heart and puts her/his arms around him and gives a warm hug....which actually makes more of an incredible impression forever...what child has not experiences that ? many have not..because as adults sometimes we are too quick to react to a negative than a positive thought...awesome poem..I LOVED it...you should be proud you not only chose the words..BUT..painted a picture with them...weedbychoice..kjforce

RE:The Mark of a Man
The boy in the first stanza was me. The boy in the second stanza was the person I wanted to be. I was writing from memories and wishes.

Re: The Mark of a Man
Have you given consideration to publishing your works with a self publisher ? No hassle and they are very accomodating....a very simple procedure..Your words of what I have read would be readily acceptable to many and may help people to stop and think about what it is they really want or need...I choose to publish, not for the money but to help my words get to those who have acted or felt different in some way throughout their lifetime..they are not alone...just a thought..

Re: The Mark of a Man
hello wordmaster,
The emotions in this are palpable and personal to the reader and the author.
The first few sights in second vision could be a younger sibling watching and hiding.
The final scene is something some of us are not priviledged to experience, but hope for just the same.
Some memories take a long time to come from the filing cabinet in the storeroom of the mind.

Re: RE:The Mark of a Man
G'day kjforce from one weed to another, lovely to return and find a new voice and face.
To be able to voice feelings whether audibly or on 'paper' is a gift. To have it communicate the emotions; thewordmaster does this well; all we can do is be inspired to do the same.
Your suggestion of the printed or digital word is a good one and a perfect way to communicate when the voice is reticent,

G'day MHC, so glad you're still around and Lulu is Great. Good to see your suggestion.
I'm mooching around finding all I have missed.
I admire this poem from thewordmaster, too
