Publisher
Elfrieda Abbe and I head to Denver tomorrow to attend the 2010 AWP Conference
and Bookfair, the largest literary get-together in the country. AWP--The
Association of Writers and Writing Programs--says this about the event:
“Each
year, AWP holds its Annual Conference in a different region of North America in
order to celebrate the outstanding authors, teachers, writing programs,
literary centers, and small press publishers of that region. The Annual
Conference typically features 350 presentations: readings, lectures, panel
discussions, and Forums plus hundreds of book signings, receptions, dances, and
informal gatherings. The conference attracts more than 8,000 attendees and more
than 500 publishers.”
Elfrieda
and I will be at our booth and on the floor of the bookfair, so if you’re
planning to attend we’d love to see you. Look for us at Booth #810 in Exhibit Hall A; we'll have free giveaways and educator discounts to offer.
