Have you thought about entering our 2010 Short-Story Contest? The contest is officially open, and you have until midnight on May 31 to submit your story.
We're pleased to have Gotham Writers' Workshop co-sponsoring the contest this year. Not only are they helping us administer the contest, but they have generously donated online classes as part of the prize packages for the top three winners. I've taken a couple of Gotham's online writing classes, and I can tell you that they were a significant help in improving my writing, so those are a great addition to our prize offerings!
We're looking for fresh, intriguing, short stories of up to 2,000
words. The story can be on any theme but must be original and
previously unpublished in a book, nationally distributed periodical or
Web-based magazine. Please note that the submission process is new--we're accepting online submissions only. Gotham set up the submissions manager on their Web site, where you'll find all the information you need to get started. Remember to read the rules and guidelines carefully. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at contest@WriterMag.com.
We're looking forward to reading your stories!
