2009 Backspace Writers Conference & Agent-Author Day

The 2009 Backspace Writers Conference brings together literary agents, acquisitions editors, best-selling authors, and publishing professionals for a two-day, two-track program of workshops, panels, and networking in the heart of the publishing world. Attendance limited to 200.

The Backspace Agent-Author Day is an EXTRA program of small-group agent-author meetings. Authors will have the opportunity to have their query letters and opening pages critiqued by a minimum of 12, and up to 18 literary agents. Attendance limited to 75.

I've lived in this Northern part of New York for 3 years and have found a black hole in the center of the universe called "New York City". It seems all the writers and editors and groups and conferences are there! Having come from central Florida where you can practically trip over a writer's group or conference, I find myself at a loss. Or am I just out of the loop? Can someone direct me to a group/conference/writer's cult that does not surround NYC?

Morningside Writers Group is interested in meeting and collaborating with other established writing workshops and critique groups in the metro NYC area to network, establish monthly poetry and fiction readings, and joining forces and funds for local in-house Saturday monthly writing retreats (member homes, coffee shops, lounges, and writer-friendly diners, cafés), and two annual writing retreats outside the NYC area.

Cruise for Writers and Publishers
