Creative juices

I'm a novice, writing for personal entertainment for 35-or-40 years now. Having never tried, but one time, to have any work published I suspect persistence is the key. The internet has given all would be authors an outlet for their creative juices to flow...some sadly have more energy than others would wish upon them.

We all share a common dream. To write an important work of great Literature, one that truly grasps the imagination of the masses and expresses in Human terms that which we can all understand and appreciate. A story about life, common to all, across the World and time.

I've been an avid reader since the age of 7 or 8 years old, long winters in Northern Ontario are to thank for that. The great stories and works of Literature I read, then as now, were written by people with a certain frame of mind. They were totally immersed in the need, desire or compulsion to free their souls of that burden which was trying to devour them. Seeking freedom and release that could only be found by placing on paper, for all to see, that which has caused them such grief.

Thanks for your time.

Re: Creative juices
To Old Guy 1951, I just joined the forums this afternoon, as I decided that The Writer maintains a tradition of thoughtful articles on the various problems writers find themselves in the search for clarity of expression. I doubt I'll every write great literature, as I'm too grounded in the spoken word in my working life, but I love novels in all of their genres. Telling a story is a shared experienced. It's nice to know someone was rooting for you even before you were born.
