Hello to fellow writers!

I am an older woman who began creative writing about 12 years ago.  I have been a technical writer for 30 years but never ventured away from grant writing, management, and non-profit programing.  I have found my writing wings and it has opened a whole new world for me.  I am able to state in writing what seems to elude me in vocal communication.

Just a few details about me.  I currently live in Memphis, TN.  I am in my last year of pursuing my second undergraduate degree in Legal Studies.  Once I have completed this goal, I will enroll in the University of Memphis for a Masters in Business Administration.  I enjoy needlecraft arts, cooking and entertaining friends, and creating hand sewn quilts..

I happened upon WriterMag while on Word for the Day website.  I look forward to reading various articles and interacting with other writers on the discussion threads.

Sincerely, Rose

Great introduction!    Like you, I have writen far to many grants and memos.  That type of writing makes demands that would destroy creative writing.  Boring is good.  Simple vocabularly and absolutely no deep meanings please.  Where do you go to learn your tradecraft as a creative writer?   Good luck with the schooling. ec
