Hi I am writing a book for a engineering software program. This program is used by 80% of instrumentation engineers globally. I have approached the vendor asking for permission to use screen shots in the book and am waiting for a response.

 Does anyone have any experience with the legalities of this. I am guessing if I have their blessing in writing then if the book goes well they have no recourse for financial gain.
