Anyone enjoy Francine Rivers or Karen Kingsbury?

How about John Donne?

Re: Anyone enjoy Francine Rivers or Karen Kingsbury?
I've read a few of Francine Rivers' books. My favorite one is REDEEMING LOVE (I think that's the name of it), about the poor little girl forced into prostitution and unable to get out and who believes that she is too soiled for redemption but finds redeeming love with a handsome preacher. I nearly cried. She was so condemned by everyone when she'd been raped as a child and trained to be a whore; she thought no one could truly love her. It's a good retelling of the book of Hosea from the Bible.

Powerful source of plots

The retelling of HOSEA led to an unforgetable book. So many novels are the retelling of fairy tales-- like Cinderella-- yet, the Bible has powerful stories. I would like to see even more set in modern times.... maye you and I can write them?

The story of Esther (for such a time as this) or Abigail (wonderful, intelligent woman married to a drunken fool) or Dorcas (social worker before the term existed).

Ideas abound.
