I really liked this article because it goes beyond the "show, don't tell" saying and actually illustrates
how to do it. It made me realize that aspiring writers get a lot of "s***" (aka advice) thrown their way, and that instead the more important thing is to focus on a certain aspect of advice at a time, perhaps turn all those chapters in books such as Natalie Goldberg's "Writing Down the Bones" into exercises. I'm sure that's how writers such as Goldberg mean these chapters to be: inspiring (and inspiration is very important), but I think that people should remember that they are also excercises. In fact, there are a lot of exercises that can be gleaned from many, many books now that I come to think of it. Anyway, thanks to Michael Knight's exercises, I started putting out some quality work that hadn't been created by me for quite some time.
