I've lived in this Northern part of New York for 3 years and have found a black hole in the center of the universe called "New York City".  It seems all the writers and editors and groups and conferences are there!  Having come from central Florida where you can practically trip over a writer's group or conference, I find myself at a loss.  Or am I just out of the loop?  Can someone direct me to a group/conference/writer's cult that does not surround NYC?
