Copyright short stories

 Hello all,

I have never been published. I just finished working on a short story that I plan to send to some magazines. Should I copyright the story first? Is it commpnm practice to CR a short story?

thanks,

CD

Re: Copyright short stories

Hi catsndogs,

No, you don't need to copyright your work.  For all practical purposes, when you write something with your name and date on it, it's copyrighted.  Magazines and book publishers are not going to steal your work.  They have their reputations to consider.  If they steal people's work, they would not stay in business very long.

Good luck with your writing.     ~   Bob
