Which Editor?
I'm trying to write a cover letter for a short story I've written and I'm wondering: How do you decide which editor to address it to?  For example, one of the literary journals I'm considering is McSweeney's.  The editor is Dave Eggers, but the managing editor changes from issue to issue.  Do I still address it to Dave Eggers?  What if there is an Editor-in-Chief?

Re: Which Editor?

As the submission info on their website http://www.mcsweeneys.net/submit/print.html does not specify to whom you should direct your submission, your letter could just be addressed to 'The Editor'. I doubt that Eggers is actively involved in screening incoming submissions.

Good luck! McS's a very prestigious journal, and a real coup to be published in.
