I identified with Sara Rosett in her article Breakthrough (November '06). I was often starting stories and after a page or two, I would begin to edit. In doing this, I would lose my momentum, my line of thought, and my inspiration. Then it would take a lot of effort to get started again.
Her article has shown the importance of getting as much writing on the paper as you can. Write as long as those creative juices are flowing. You can always go back later to edit and to make it look pretty.
Thanks for showing us how to recognize this form of writing and how to overcome it.
